AI for Nonprofits
Open course · choose any lessonNonprofits run on the same writing as any organization — grants, appeals, reports, updates — with a fraction of the staff and a much higher price for getting a fact wrong. This course is built around that reality, and around one non-negotiable rule: impact numbers come from your records, or they do not appear.
The opening lessons make that rule practical. You learn to tell a genuinely good AI reply from a plausible-sounding one, to sort the real from the invented, and to hand the machine your background — mission, programs, actual outcomes — before asking for a word of prose. The four-part ask and steer-don't-restart habits turn drafting from an evening job into a lunch-break one.
Then the writing that funds the mission. Grant narratives that answer what funders are actually asking, built from your program data and voice rather than boilerplate. Donor appeals with genuine warmth — the machine drafts, your stories and gratitude carry it. Board reports and updates assembled from your own notes and numbers, formatted clearly, never inflated.
The course closes with the two things lean teams need most: workflows you build once and rerun every cycle — the monthly newsletter, the quarterly report, the annual appeal — and the judgment lesson: when not to trust the output, which claims need a second source, and where the human heart of your organization must stay exactly that. Lesson one is free.
